What Is a 26-30 Railcard?

The 26-30 Railcard provides a 1/3 discount on most UK rail fares for those aged 26-30.

26-30 Railcards can only be purchased online, are valid for one year and costs only £30, offering average annual savings of up to £258*, although there is no limit to the number of times you can use the Railcard within the validity period.

The 26-30 Railcard is ideal for everyone aged 26-30, including young professionals, graduates and those who enjoy weekend getaways.

Note that there is a cheapest fare of £12 for all journeys made between 4:30 am and 09:59 am from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Discounted travel on Saturdays and Sundays is unrestricted.

The 26-30 Railcard offers a 1/3 discount on most Off-Peak rail fares for travel across the UK. Below, you will find information on tickets, time restrictions, and the cheapest fares available.

Note that Railcard discounts only apply to the cheapest fare of £12 for all journeys made between 4:30 and 10 am, Mon – Fri (excludes public holidays).

  • How long does it take to get a 26-30 Railcard?

    You’ll be able to use the Railcard as soon as you’ve purchased it on the Trip.com app. When purchasing, ensure you have proof of age, a high-quality, digital passport-style photo of yourself, and a debit or credit card ready.
  • What is the difference between a 16-25 and 26-30 Railcard?

    Other than the age groups they are available for, there are very few differences between these Railcards. They both offer 1/3 off the price of UK train tickets with identical restrictions for travel routes and times.

    However, the only key difference is that the 16‐25 Railcard in 1-year and 3-year variants, whereas the 26-30 Railcard is only available as a 1-year Railcard. Those with 26-30 Railcards also tend to save more on average (£258) in comparison to 16-25 Railcard holders (£192).
  • Can you get a 26-30 Railcard when you are 30?

    Yes, You can buy it up to and including the day before your 31st birthday and keep using it until its expiry date.
  • Can I get a 3-year 26-30 Railcard?

    No, the 26-30 Railcard is only available for 1 year.
Using Your Railcard
  • When can I use my 26-30 Railcard?

    You can use the 26-30 Railcard anytime on weekends, public holidays and during the week. However, if you travel between 04:30 and 09:59 Monday to Friday, a cheapest fare of £12 will apply.
  • How do you use a 26-30 Railcard?

    You can add your Railcard to a maximum of two devices at any given time. When entering the station, you can either scan the QR code on your phone or present it to railway staff if required.
  • How do you add a 26-30 Railcard to your Oyster card?

    To link your Oyster cards and Railcards, you need to take your Oyster card and valid Railcard to a London Underground station and ask a member of staff to set the discount for you. Note that you will require an account on TfL website before doing so. You can also get the discount set at Oyster Ticket Shops and Visitor Centres.
  • Can you use the 26-30 Railcard on the London Underground?

    Yes, after adding your Railcard to an Oyster card, you can save 1/3 on Single Off-Peak pay as you go fares for London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services in London.
  • Can anyone else use my 26-30 Railcard?

    No, only you can use the Railcard. If a member of rail staff is unable to validate that the person on your Railcard is you, the Train Companies reserve the right to charge you the full price Standard Single fare and, in some cases, an additional penalty fare.
  • Does the 26-30 Railcard work during Peak times?

    Yes, you can use this Railcard at any time, including Peak hours (between 04:30 and 09:59 Monday to Friday) as long as you meet the cheapest fare of £12.
  • Where can you use a 26-30 Railcard?

    Both the National Rail Network and London Underground lines accept this Railcard, offering a 1/3 discount. Accepted train ticket types include Standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak Single and Return tickets, as well as Standard Class and First Class Advance tickets throughout Great Britain.   • When can you renew a 26-30 Railcard?

    You can renew your 26-30 Railcard anytime before your 31st birthday and use it for the entitled year, providing your current Railcard is due to expire within 30 days. However, if you are over the age of 31 and your Railcard has expired, you will have to choose an alternative, such as the Network or Two Together Railcard.
  • How can I renew a 26-30 Railcard?

    You can renew your 26-30 Railcard online within 30 days before it expires and anytime before your 31st birthday. The specific steps are as follows.
